She/Her
Christy has always wanted to be a costumer, but growing up in a small town with no one to sew with at home didn't provide many opportunities for this budding costumer. It was not until High School that Christy found her first costuming job at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin as their on-site costumer for staff and volunteers. Christy furthered her studies by attending the Red Deer College Costume Cutting and Construction; receiving her diploma in 2003. Christy has worked as a stitcher and cutter in local films and theatres and was the Assistant Head of Wardrobe Running for The Citadel Theatre from 2007-2010. Though the local costume industry kept Christy very busy, Theatre Garage began to demand her full attention. Christy has focused her efforts to the shop since 2010. Theatre Garage is pleased to construct the Wardrobe for Freewill Shakespeare festival with Christy as the Head of the department. There is nothing in the world Christy would rather be doing then working in wardrobe and is extremely grateful to do what she loves for a living every day.Destyn McClaflin

Levi Borejko
Sales
They/Them
Levi made their stage debut at the age of 4 and has been hooked on the performing arts ever since. They received a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from the University of Alberta’s Augustana campus. It was there they realized they did not want to exclusively be a performer and began on a mission to become a complete pantologist of the arts. They love swapping knowledge and are just as excited to hear about your costumes and projects as they are to help you make them come to fruition! When not at Theatre Garage, Levi can be found wandering in the forest, making interdisciplinary art, teaching kids, or some combination of the three.

Mel (she/her) is an award-winning Drag King performer and helpful person who has over 15 years of experience with various thermoplastics, makeup and studying vintage clothing. Mandy Mattson
Stitcher
She/Her
Mandy graduated from Grant MacEwan’s Theatre Production program in the spring of 2017. Growing up in a small town, where the only theatre productions are performed at the high school, she had no idea what she was in for when she moved to Edmonton to originally study for a BSc. She was introduced into the cosplay scene and she’s been hooked on costumes ever since. Though her program of study didn’t feel quite right, she missed the theatre. After two years of study she couldn’t fight it anymore. Theatre Production is where her love of costumes and everything behind the scenes combined. She hopes to one day further her education in SFX make up and wig making. Mandy can’t wait to turn you into the character of your dreams!
Aspen Mendoza
Sales, Stitcher
They/Them
Aspen graduated with a BSc in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta in the spring of 2023 with a Major in Clothing, Textiles and Material Culture and a specialization in clothing design and historical fashion. Aspen entered the world of live theatre through Ukrainian dance, starting as a dancer in a local dance school. As they continued this style of dance, they become fascinated with Ukrainian dance costumes and how their wardrobe department operated. They continued to dance in local dance companies until the summer of 2023, where they retired from dancing with 15 years of dance experience under their belt. Now they continue their work with the Ukrainian dance community as the Dancers Costume Director for the Viter Ukrainian Dancers and Folk Choir. However, Aspen holds a love for sewing that surpasses just the theatre world and takes sewing commissions for anything from clothing repairs to cosplay creation. Helping customers to make their costume ideas into a reality is their favourite part of the job and they are always happy to talk about different products and strategies to achieve that goal!
