SUMMARY:Wigs 101 with Chelsea Kerr
DESCRIPTION:Now that you have the basic wig work under your belt lets expand your knowledge on styling and shaping! Rather than simply ‘shake and go’ out of the bag\, let’s customize that wig to complete the perfect look for yourself and/or your client. There are many different methods to achieving the style you need\, this workshop will explore Chelsea’s favorite methods. \nChelsea is a professional stylist in Edmonton and wig technician working theatre and film. Chelsea’s specialty is building and styling for her Drag King and Queen clients. \nIn this workshop Chelsea will demonstrate her techniques.  There will be some hands-on work as well for each student. This workshop will cover: \n\nUsing steam rather than heat to shape a wig\nLearn how to do professional roller sets\nCreating extreme volume using rats and teasing methods\nPractice creating different textures and braids\nHow to build anime looks that last (spiking and firm styles)\nLearn to block lace\, cut and shape\nLearn how to cut bangs and general clean-up of hair/wigs\n\nThis workshop has been renamed\, old title was ‘Level Two Working with Wigs’ \nAll skill levels are welcome. We do prefer if you have taken Intro to Working with Wigs or Wig Hacks workshop before taking this workshop. Students are asked to bring a notebook and pen. Theatre Garage offers a 10% discount to any wig or wig supply the day of workshop. This workshop is $45 and is 2 hours. \nBe sure to book early! Our workshops are taught in small groups. Each workshop has a minimum amount of students needed. If workshop does not meet that minimum by 72 hours before scheduled start the workshop will be cancelled or rescheduled. SUMMARY:Sculpting and Building Latex Prosthetics with Tammy Neron
DESCRIPTION:If you have ever wanted to design and pour your own prosthetics\, this is the workshop for you! \nTammy is a professional makeup artist that trained at Blanche MacDonald. Tammy specializes in FX and fantasy makeup. Tammy loves working in film\, with her clients and loves to teach her specialized makeup skills! \nThis hands-on and demonstration workshop will cover: \n\nWhich student will receive all materials needed to make a mould from\nLearn the techniques and how to use the tools to sculpt clay\nLearn how to turn your sculpt into a negative mould out of plaster\nLearn the art of old-age makeup\, realistic injuries and illusion makeup\nPractice making a cut and bruise on yourself\nDiscuss how to best pour latex into your mould\, each student will take home liquid latex\nDiscuss how to attach and paint latex prosthetics\n\nAll skill levels are welcome. Please wear your crafting clothing due to makeup being used in this workshop. Please be aware latex may be used in this workshop. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we will teach the next level of advanced special effects makeup sharpening your makeup application and painting skills. Having the skills to not only to apply makeup to oneself but to build body parts is essential to any makeup artist. In this workshop you will also learn how to build body part props and prosthetics as you will be making a copy of YOUR OWN HAND! Be ready to get your hands dirty because this is a special effects project workshop! \nTammy is a professional makeup artist that trained at Blanche MacDonald. Tammy loves working in film\, with her clients and loves to teach her specialized makeup skills! \nThis hands-on project workshop will cover: \n\nDiscuss what is needed in an advanced FX kit and its uses\nWhere to source materials and tools\nYou will build a copy of your own hand using latex and other materials\nLearn and practice how to paint prosthetics so they look realistic\nLearn how to build veins in your project\nExplore what these props/ prosthetics can be used for and how to fill them so they look realistic\n\nAll skill levels are welcome. We do prefer you have taken Intro to FX. Please wear your crafting clothing due to makeup being used in this workshop. Please be aware latex will be used in this workshop. This workshop is $50 and is 2 hours. \nPlease bring a hair dyer.
